{Days of Bliss}

Do you ever have days you want to put in a bottle and hold on to forever?
Days that feel so blissfully perfect that if you listen hard enough, you can almost hear your own soundtrack playing in the background?
A couple weeks ago I was blessed with such a day.  We were out celebrating my birthday, just Mike and I.  We drove to the lake, walked miles on the boardwalk, down the pier, through the lake front shops, and spent an hour watching the kite surfers dancing on the waves.
Joy and calm enveloped my soul that day.  It was a day I didn't want to end.
These are the moments I want to capture and replay over and over again in my mind.

The sun starts going down and we brush the sand off our feet.
Like all magical moments, this one must also come to an end.

This is when I remind myself that joy isn't only found on a walk down the beach or in days when the weather is absolute perfection.
Joy abounds in a life that chooses to find it.
It's not handed to us on a silver platter and doesn't always come wrapped up with a bright red bow.
Life is what we make it, and to embrace the joy and beauty around us is a choice.
Revel in those moments that bring peace to your soul.  Slow down.  Take pictures.  Sit and drink it all in.  Force the chaos to stop swirling and allow the details of this bliss to be imprinted in your mind and on your heart.
Even if only for a few minutes. . .

God gave these moments to us as a gift…let’s not take them for granted.
