{A Dangerous Business}

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door...
you step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet,
there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."
- J.R.R. Tolkien, Fellowship of the Ring

It's a dangerous business. . . because you never know where the road might lead.  One just has to decide if they truly want to know what's down the darkened hallway, or just around the next bend in the road.

 We think we want to know, but when it's really in front of us, sometimes it's easier to stay with the status quo rather than venture into the unfamiliar.

But we have to know.  It tugs at us.

So we close our eyes, take a deep breath, and press forward, praying for the faith to embrace whatever we find.

I must walk by faith, not by sight, trusting God has a plan and that He'll lead the way.

This is why I go out my front door and step onto the road, even though I never know where I might be swept off to.
